Who is Clive Fearon?
About Clive Fearon BSc (Hons), P.G. Cert, Cert. Hyp.
Psychologist and personal trainer specializing in weight loss and self-esteem.
Clive is a well respected psychologist and trained counselor. Prior to writing New Mind New Body the former professional boxer and bouncer lectured in psychology and in the field of addiction as a substance misuse counselor.
After leaving school with no qualifications he, re-entered education in his 20’s and received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of East London. Where he carried out his final year research, “A Case Study of a Body Builder as he prepares for Mr Universe” published in the journal of perceptual motor skills.
Clive has worked as an undercover reporter for the Cook report and has made a number of TV appearances including shows such as Kilroy and Central Weekend. Clive has given his professional opinion on number of issues including men and body image and the drug Prozac.
As a former professional boxer Clive has a very good knowledge of the link between food and emotions, he once crash dieted and lost 18lbs in a weekend to make agreed weight for a fight. On another occasion he also put a stone and a half on in the two weeks leading up to Christmas.
Such personal experiences have helped shape and inform his work as a personal trainer and therapist and given him a unique insight into the difficulties that people can develop in their relationships with food and the body. The range of services that he has developed have been designed to help individuals break free from the vicious circle that can lead them to develop a love hate relationship with food and the body.
Through his work Clive is determined to help empower people to manage issues that hinder confidence and self esteem. Clive also owns One Nation Health Studio,
“The philosophy behind all that we do is healthy body healthy mind….It’s not about being super-fit and being able to run marathons. It’s about having a healthy mind and body to be able to deal with the stresses that life throws at you and that requires not just a healthy body but a healthy mind.”
Peace Clive
